프랑스 파리에서 온 타헬 달자스(Tahel Dalsace)입니다. 국적은 이스라엘이에요. 파리에 있는 Atelier de Sèvre 에서 순수예술과정 1년을 하고 더 창의적인 것을 공부하고 싶어서 영국에 있는 LSF(London College of Fashiom)와 CSM (Central Saint Martins)에 면접까지 봤지만 무언가 다른 것이 필요하다는 생각이 들었어요. 영국학교 특유의 전통적인 분위기가 다소 지루하기도 했고요. 크리에이티브함과 테크닉을 모두 배우고 싶었던 찰나, 한국의 BLINDESS라는 브랜드를 통해 한국 패션을 알고 완전히 매료됐습니다. 유튜브 영상을 찾아보던 중 에스모드 서울에 졸업쇼를 보게 됐고 바로 결심했습니다. 서울에 가야겠다고 말이죠.
입학 후 2년이 지났는데 여전히 에스모드 서울에 온 것을 만족합니다. 지금까지의 학교생활은 매우 바쁘지만 힘들수록 과정은 흥미로워요. 특히 교수님들께 정말 감사 드립니다. 교수님들께서는 인내심을 갖고 제가 원하는 것에 귀 기울여주시고 많은 도움을 주세요. 한가지 제가 후회되는 점이 있다면 학업을 시작하기 전에 한국어를 충분히 연마하고 오지 못한 것이에요. 한국어를 잘했다면 소통하는 즐거움을 느꼈을 테니까요.
저는 종종 서울패션위크와 파리 패션위크를 보며 스타일을 비교분석하곤 하는데, 서울이 창의적이면서도 조금은 낯선 느낌이라면 파리는 수수하고 시크하면서도 고상한 느낌이에요. 저의 프랑스 적인 뿌리와 한국에서 배운 창의력이 결합한다면 제 영감을 더 근사하게 개발해나갈 수 있겠죠? 그 것이 제가 여기에서 공부하는 이유이기도 합니다.
요즘은 여러 브랜드의 마케팅 전략을 공부하고 디자이너 변화에 따른 브랜드의 발전에 대해 연구하고 있어요. 내년에는 3학년에 올라가 여성복을 전공할 계획입니다. 제가 가진 장점들이 여성복에 훨씬 더 부합할 것 같아요.
지금도 여러 나라에서 온 외국인 학생들이 있지만, 앞으로 보다 더 많은 외국인 학생들이 함께하기를 바랍니다.
1. How was your school life after the last interview?
School life is very busy but rich in learning! My first semester and second semester are quite different though. The second semester is way more difficult because of the Tailor Jacket which is a very technical piece. It's like a puzzle that we need to solve every class! The freedom for creation is better and more entertaining than last year. More it gets hard more the creation gets interesting and full of options.
2. What was the best memorable experience at ESMOD SEOUL?
I think the mini-défilé is my most memorable experience. It was a unique, fun and challenging experience. I liked the idea that we have to organize with each other to organize everything. Also, I liked the challenge to walk in front of strangers with our creations, it pushes us to be bolder and more confident.
3. Are you still satisfied with Esmod Seoul? No regret? If yes(or no), why?
I am still satisfied with Esmod Seoul. I really appreciate the teaching of my teachers this year : they are patient, are listening carefully of what i want to do and help a lot. My only regret is to not have learn enough korean before starting the school, after you start you have a very little amount of time to focus on learning the language.
4. Do you still love Korean style & fashion? Who is your favorite Designer?
I am still admiring Blindness which represent a perfect blend between streetwear and haute couture creativity/ romantic vibes which I think represent well Korean fashion and style. I like how explosive, creative and a bit strange Seoul Fashion week styles are contrasting with sober, chic but elegant Paris fashion week styles. That's why I wanted to study here: keeping my inspiration between my French roots and the Korean innovative way of creating.
5. What are your main interests these days?
My main interest those days is studying the different marketing strategy of different brands but also to study the evolution of big brands according to the changes of designers.
6. Do you prefer stylism or modelism? Why?
I think both are very important and I like the way both of the subjects are equally taught, they complete each other. However, I have a preference for stylism just because the creative part of fashion brings me more interest.
7. What is your plan after this semester?
I hope to be able to stay in this school for the third year in womenswear.
8. Have you decided on your major for next year?
I want to major in womenswear because I believe my abilities are better for womenswear.

Happy birthday! Hoping this school continues to develop and hoping there will be more and more foreigners interested by that school.
